Meeting My Special Pokémon Team

Jenny walked through the Route with her Chimchar following her. Jenny looked around trying to take all of this in.

“So, this is Sinnoh? Looks a lot different from Kanto where I’m from. Alright let’s try and find some Pokémon.”

Suddenly one popped out in front of them causing them to stop.

“What are you?” Jenny said pulled out her Pokédex.

However, the Pokédex didn’t give more than a name, “It’s called a Shinx but I guess I have to catch one in order to get the information on it. Alright then. Chimchar go.”

Chimchar got ready to go as the Shinx got ready to fight.

“Chimchar use Scratch.”

Chimchar attacked and hit the Shinx. The Shinx tried to use Tackle but missed Chimchar.

“Chimchar use Scratch again.”

Chimchar nodded and used Scratch again hitting the Shinx. The Shinx looked weak as it tried to get to it’s feet. Jenny pulled out a Pokeball and threw it. It hit the Shinx, pulled it in, and landed on the ground. Jenny and Chimchar watched as the Pokeball shook three time and then they heard the click. Jenny smiled and let out a cheer as did Chimchar. Jenny went over and picked up the Pokeball.

“Welcome aboard Shinx. Though I better get you to the Pokémon Center before long. Good thing the next city just up ahead.”

So they headed to the next city and went into the Pokémon Center. Nurse Joy quickly healed up her Chimchar and Shinx before giving them back to her. Then she brought Shinx back out and got her Pokédex back out again.

“Shinx, the Flash Pokémon. All of its fur dazzles if danger is sensed. It flees while the foe is momentarily blinded.”

“There we go. Now let’s see. Hey you’re an Electric type Pokémon. So perfect for my team. Brave nature. Wow that’s really cool. And your ability is….Intimidate? What the heck is Intimidate?”

Shinx went up and pressed the ability. That caused details to come up.

She read the screen, “The Pokémon intimidates opposing Pokémon upon entering battle, lowering their Attack stat. Wait seriously?”

Shinx nodded causing Jenny to smile, “Cool. Sounds like a great ability to me really. You know you would be perfect for a special team I’m making up. What do you say? Help through this Region and then join that team?”

Shinx nodded so Jenny smiled, “Sweet! But you would need a nickname……Oh I know. How about Marie?”

Shinx looked happy and nodded.

“Alright then Marie. Let’s get going. Onward!”

Jenny and Marie ran out of the Pokémon Center ready for anything.

Xeno

Both Riley and Jenny walked back to where the boat was. They had just finished beating up Team Galactic and Jenny’s Pokémon could use a rest. But first she needed to get back to main land.

Jenny looked a little nervous, “Seems like those guys are appearing all over the place here.”

Riley smiled to her, “Thank you for helping protect the Steel types here.”

She smiled, “No problem. Can’t have those guys running around as they please right?”

“Since you were such a big help, I actually I have something for you.”

Riley went into his house for a moment and then returned holding an egg. Riley handed her the egg and Jenny was being carefully not to drop it.

“A egg?”

“A Pokémon egg. I want you to have and keep whatever Pokémon hatches from it.”

“Are you sure? I mean I don’t want to take your egg from you.”

Riley gently waved her off, “No problem. I always give trainers that come here for the first time an egg. Just take good care of it.”

“I will I promise.”

With that, she got back on the boat and was taken back to the main land.

Much Later

Jenny sat in the Pokémon Center with the egg in her lap. It had been a good while since Riley had given her the egg and it still hadn’t hatched yet.

“When is this Pokémon going to hatch? It sure is taking it’s time.”

Jenny got ready to go again making sure she had a good grip on the egg. She started down the Route thinking about the trainers she would have to face. Before she could go though, the egg started to move causing her to look. Suddenly the egg glowed brightly blinding Jenny for a moment. When the glow went away, there was a Pokémon she had never seen before sitting in her arms. He looked up at her curiously causing her to pull out her Pokédex.

It came opened and spoke, “Riolu, the Emanation Pokémon. The aura that emanates from its body intensifies to alert others if it is afraid or sad.”

“An Aura Pokémon? I’ve never heard of one of those before.” Julia turned back to the Pokédex, “Ok so what are your stats. Fighting Steel type. That would make sense to why Riley had you on Iron Island. Adamant nature. A bit stubborn huh? And the ability….hey it’s Inner Focus. That’ll keep you from flinching in battle except with a certain move I think.”

Riolu looked around not sure what was going on so Jenny put away her Pokédex. She lifted him up slightly so they were face to face.

“Hi my name is Jenny. Riley gave you to me as an egg. Hopefully we can become good friends.”

Riolu smiled and nodded happily.

“Alright…..Xeno. Let’s get going. We have some trainers to take out.” Jenny carried Xeno in her arms as she started to walk.

Noé

Jenny stepped off the boat and smiled, “Hello Kalos!”

Then she sighed, “Man I’m so late coming to this place. Hopefully nothing too exciting has happened here while I wasn’t here.”

“Hey!” shouted a voice.

Jenny looked and smiled, “Alyssa! Hey!”

Alyssa ran over and smiled, “Jenny. Good to see you made it here.”

“Yeah. I would have gotten here sooner but you know how things can be.”

“Yeah. Yeah. I’ve already got all of the badges from here.”

“Well yeah. You’ve been here a lot longer than I have. So what are you doing now?”

“Just trying to get certain natures on my Pokémon.”

Jenny smiled slightly, “Should have guessed.”

“Oh that reminds me.” Alyssa then pulled out a Pokeball, “Here. Take this with you. It’s a Pokémon that could come in handy in your journey through here.”

“Don’t you need it?” Jenny said as she took the Pokeball.

“Actually I bred it just for you. After all, it’s a Pokémon you get really late in this Region but I think you could use it now. Well I got to get going so see you around.” She told her before going.

“Bye Alyssa!” Jenny looked at the Pokeball in her hand, “Oh wait. She never said what Pokémon this was. Oh well. I should go get my starter first and then check this Pokémon out.

One Selection and Forest Later

Jenny sat at the Pokémon Center a little out of breath, “Finally through the forest. Thank goodness I picked the Fire type starter or that could have gone a lot worse. But how in the world was there a Water type in the forest with no water? I mean I know it’s a monkey but seriously.”

Jenny then remembered something, “Oh I almost forgot. I never checked out this Pokémon Alyssa gave me.”

Jenny took the Pokeball off her belt and tossed it lightly. It came opened and a Pokémon appeared, one that Jenny had never seen before. Of course, she was new to this Region so there were some that she had never seen before.

“Wait what are you?” Jenny pulled out her Pokédex.

It came opened and spoke, “Noibat, the Sound Wave Pokémon. Even a robust wrestler will become dizzy and unable to stand when exposed to its 200,000-hertz ultrasonic waves.”

“A Noibat?” Then Jenny looked at him, “Ummm…..Hi.”

Noibat looked around a little before Jenny told him, “Alyssa gave you to me. I hope you don’t mind at all.”

Noibat looked at her and smiled.

Jenny smiled too picking Noibat up, “You’re actually really cute. I should check what kind of stats you have though.”

Jenny looked at her Pokédex again, “Hello. You’re a Flying Dragon type. You don’t look like a Dragon type to me. Odd but cool. Ok a Naïve nature. Nothing wrong with that really. And you have the ability Infiltrator. Infiltrator? Wait isn’t that the ability that allows you to bypass Protect?”

Noibat nodded causing Jenny to smile, “Sweetness. Alyssa wasn’t kidding when she you could help me on my journey. So Noé. You really to go.”

Noé looked a little surprised at the nickname before he smiled. He flew up so he was flouting next to her and nodded.

“Alright. Let’s get going.” Jenny smiled before rushing out of the Pokémon Center with Noé following her.

Ada

Jenny walked along ready to start her new adventure through Hoenn with her new Torchic. She was curious as to why Blaziken was seen as the best Fire Starter but now she had the chance to find that out. She went out on to the first route of the Region wondering what Pokémon she was going to meet. She didn’t have wait long as a Pokémon appeared right in front of her causing her to stop.

She smiled, “Oh a Zigzagoon. You know that could be a good addition to my special team I’m building. So, you’re coming with me Zigzagoon. Go Torchic.”

Torchic came out and Jenny told him, “Alright Torchic. Help me catch this Zigzagoon.”

Torchic nodded and got ready to fight as did the Zigzagoon. The Zigzagoon went first with a Tackle but Torchic helped by using Scratch. However the Zigzagoon wasn’t done as it used Growl on Torchic. Though Jenny didn’t pay that attack any attention as Torchic used Scratch again. It hit the Zigzagoon making it weaker. That’s when Jenny got out a Pokeball and threw it at the Zigzagoon. It hit, pulled the Zigzagoon in, landed on the ground, shook three times, and clicked.

“Yes.” Jenny smiled going over to the Pokeball, “I got it. Thanks Torchic.”

Torchic smiled before Jenny called her back. Jenny continued her way through the route before she got the next town and was able to get her Pokémon to the Pokémon Center. Once she got her Pokémon back from Nurse Joy, she brought Zigzagoon back out again. Zigzagoon smiled at her as she got out her Pokédex.

It spoke, “Zigzagoon, the Tiny Racoon Pokémon. A Pokémon with abundant curiosity. It shows an interest in everything, so it always zigzags.”

“Makes sense to me. Alright let’s check out stats. Normal Type. Knew that already, Lonely nature. Really? Doesn’t seem like it really. And the ability is Pick up. Cool. It could really come in handy to get items all the time.”

Zigzagoon nodded so Jenny smiled, “Welcome to the team Zigzagoon. Or should I say Ada?”

She looked confused causing Jenny to explain, “I’m building a special Pokémon team. Every Pokémon on this team gets to have a nickname. What do you think? Sounds good?”

Ada smiled and nodded liking the idea of this team.

“Great to hear Ada. Now come on. We have a Region to explore and badges to get.”

Ada nodded once more and followed Jenny out as they walked out of the Pokémon Center.

Sharon

Jenny had her face buried in her Dexnav as she walked around in the grass. She had been thankful that she had a bunch of repels on her because she was trying to find a certain Pokémon.

“Oh come on. Why can’t the Dexnav find one? I mean I know they’re rare but—”

Suddenly the Dexnav came to life locating a Pokémon.

Jenny smiled walking towards it carefully, “Sweet! There it is. Now it should be—”

Jenny tipped over something and fell to the ground. She carefully got back up and looked back to see what she tripped over. An Eevee stood there just looking right at her as if unsure of what to do at this point. Jenny looked surprised to see the Eevee as the Dexnav went nuts next to her because she had found the Pokémon she had been tracking. She reached over and closed the Dexnav so it would stop. They just continued to look at each other for a moment before Jenny pulled out an Ultra Ball. She threw it, it hit the Eevee, pulled it in, landed on the ground, it shook three times, and then caught. Jenny gave a sigh of relief before standing up again.

Jenny brushed herself off, “Well that was easy.”

Jenny picked the Ultra Ball up and went back into town. When she was at the Pokémon Center, she brought out her new Eevee who looked at her.

“Sharon!”

The Eevee looked confused as Jenny took off her pack, “Your nickname. Like it?”

She nodded as Jenny dug through her pack, “Now I know I have one somewhere. Oh here it is!”

Jenny pulled out a Fire Stone, “Thank you Kalos Stone Emporium.”

Jenny looked at Sharon, “Ok I kind of really want a Flareon so would it be ok if I used this on you?”

Sharon smiled and nodded. Jenny smiled and pressed the Fire Stone to Eevee. That’s when Eevee evolved into Flareon.

Jenny pulled out her Pokédex, “You know I should really check how your stats are.”

Flareon’s information soon came up causing Jenny to say, “Alright let’s see. A Gentle nature, cool. No Fire type moves yet but you’ll learn them in time. And your ability is—”

Jenny looked at the screen surprised making Sharon confused. Jenny looked at the ability line which only held one word. Guts.

“Guts? As in increases power if you have a stats effect Guts? As in your rare hidden ability?”

Sharon nodded and Jenny hugged her, “I have to best Flareon in the world!”

Sharon looked a little confused but then she smiled.

Jenny released her standing, “Alright Sharon. Let’s get going. We have badges to get.”

Sharon nodded more than ready to get going. They went off running into the next Route ready to face anything that came their way.

Oz

Jenny got off the Lapras before calling it back into her gear.

Jenny gave a sigh before taking her Dexnav off her pack, “That’s it! I’m trading for one.”

Before she could do anything, her Pokégear went off with someone calling her so she took it off her pack loop.

She opened it up answering it, “Hello?”

Mike appeared on screen, “Hey sis.”

“Hey bro. What’s up?”

“Just seeing how you were doing. I’m almost done.”

“Great. Well I’m trying to catch a Mareanie but it’s impossible. I’m just going to trade for one.”

“You know that’s a bad idea right?”

“Why is that a bad idea?”

“Don’t you remember? You would need all the stamps so you don’t have to worry about the level cap. That way the traded Pokémon will listen to you all the time.”

Jenny sighed, “Oh right. I forgot about that. But these Pokémon aren’t working with me. I’ve been out here for a good two hours trying to get the SOS Battle I need to get one and haven’t found it yet.”

“Just keep trying. I found a Gyarados while facing a Magikarp. If that can happen to me, then you’ll find one sooner or later.”

“Maybe.”

“Got to go sis. Trainers are looking for a battle.”

“Alright. See ya bro.”

With that, the call ended leaving Jennifer holding her Pokégear. She looked at her Pokégear and then at her Dexnav. She thought for a moment before putting the Pokégear and Dexnav back on her pack and getting out the riding devise. She called Lapras back out again and got on.

Many Battles Later

A Corsola stood in front of her Trumbeak and it looked pretty weak. Jenny stood there waiting for it to call for help to see if the Pokémon she wanted would show up. Corsola called for help but no one came.

“Oh come on. Are we really doing this again?” Jenny pulled out an Adrenaline Orb.

Jenny tossed the orb causing it to hit Corsola. A gas surrounded Corsola and it made it really nervous. Corsola attacked but it did little damage to Trumbeak. Then Corsola called for help again and Jenny expected either another no show or a Corsola. She saw some bubbles coming up from the water so she thought it was another Corsola. Jenny gasped when she saw a Mareanie appear next to Corsola.

“Finally!” Jenny shouted so loud that she startled her Trumbeak before she said to Trumbeak, “Alright Trumbeak. Faint the Corsola and weaken the Mareanie. We need to catch that thing.”

Trumbeak nodded and attacked the Corsola which knocked it out. Then Mareanie attacked causing some damage to Trumbeak making her weaker.

“Hold on Trumbeak. Just a little bit longer.”

Trumbeak nodded and attacked the Mareanie. Thankfully she didn’t knock it out though the Mareanie attacked again. Trumbeak was looking like she was having problems. Jenny pulled out a Great Ball and threw it hoping it would work. It hit the Mareanie, pulled it in, landed on the ground, shook three times, and clicked. Jenny cheered like crazy because she had finally caught one. She called Trumbeak back and got the Great Ball. She took them both to the Pokémon Center where Nurse Joy quickly healed them. Once she got her team back, she called Mareanie back out again.

“Oz!” She shouted giving Mareanie a hug.

Mareanie looked confused and surprised that she would do that. Then the Rotom Pokédex came out and flouted next to Jenny.

“Oh right. I guess I should check your entry.” Jenny let go of Oz.

Jenny pressed the Pokédex option allowing Rotom to say, “Mareanie, the Brutal Star Pokémon. It plunges the poison spike on its head into its prey. When the prey has weakened, Mareanie deals the finishing blow with its 10 tentacles.”

Jenny looked at the entry, “So it’s got a powerful poison inside of it?”

Then Rotom spoke, “Yes. So hugging it is probably not a good idea.”

“Why? I’m fine. I didn’t get poisoned from hugging it. Heck none of the spikes even touched me. Let me see the rest of Oz’s stats.”

Rotom allowed the stats to appear causing Jenny to read them, “Let’s see. A Poison Water types. Makes sense really. Lonely nature. Huh? Linoone has the same nature. And the ability is Merciless. Merciless? Never heard of that one before. Hey Rotom what’s Merciless.”

That caused the information to come up and Rotom said, “The Pokémon's attacks become critical hits if the target is poisoned.”

“Whoa. That’s really cool actually. Oh hey. Can Oz learn Toxic?”

“Yes.”

“Sweet. For once I’m going to have to teach a Pokémon I have Toxic so Oz can use that ability.” Jenny told Oz, “Not that there’s anything wrong with that. It’s just I normally don’t teach moves like that to my Pokémon. However for you, I’ll make a special case.”

Oz looked at her still surprised that she was treating him so well. Jenny picked him up surprising him again.

Jenny smiled, “As you can see I’m not afraid of you or that poison inside of you. I just want you to be my friend ok?”

Oz then smiled and nodded.

“Alright then. Welcome aboard Oz.”

Oz cheered loudly glad to finally have a home with a nice trainer.
