Pokémon Hearts

Part 1

Everything was peaceful when four beams of light came down. When the beams disappeared Sora, Riku, Kairi, and Yakumo stood there. They looked around and only saw a bunch of rock.

"Ok where are we?" Sora asked.

"Don't know." Riku said.

"This world just showed up. We must have to do something here." Kairi said.

Sora nodded and said, "Then let's take a look around this place."

Yakumo sighed and asked, "And how do we do that?"

Sora looked around and saw a large rock, "I'm going to climb up and see if anyone is here."

Sora rushed over and started to climb the rock. When he got to the top Sora gasped.

"Guy's you have to come see this." Sora called.

So his friends climbed the rock and were met by a weird site. They saw more rock but they also saw a number of weird looking creatures. Some were big, others were small, but some didn't even look like animals.

"What are those things?" Riku asked.

Sora shook his head and said, "I don't know but they don't look like Heartless. I think it would be better if we stayed away from them."

The rest agreed and started to climb down the rock. They started to walk around hiding every time one of the creatures came towards them. They had been walking around for 10 minutes and still hadn't found a single person. Suddenly the ground starts to shake underneath Sora. A giant creature that looked like it was made out of steel came up from the ground.

Sora jumped off its head and landed near his friends. The creature fired a beam out of its mouth so they dodged it. Then its tail started to glow and slammed it at them. Sora and Riku got hit and fell back.

"You guys ok?" Yakumo asked.

Sora sat up and said, "Yeah. I don't think we have a choice but to fight this thing."

Riku stood up and summoned his Keyblade. Everyone got out their weapons as its tail glowed again. They leapt out of the way barely dodging the attack. Sora tried to cut the creature but even the Keyblade didn't make a scratch. The failed attack only managed to make the creature angry. But before the creature could attack a light blue sphere hit it.

They looked to see a girl with one of these creatures standing next to her. But this creature was different. It almost looked human expect it was yellow and black. The steel creature got up and roared at the other two.

"Ok Cosmo do it again." The girl called.

It nodded as it put its hands together. Then a blue sphere started to form before the creature threw it at the steel one. The steel one fell back but got back up again. The girl's creature jumped and did multiple kicks and punches on the steel creature causing it to fall again. This time when it got back up, it turned and went away. The girl's creature landed in front of Sora and his friends surprising them slightly.

"Are you alright?" The girl called before she came sliding down the rocks.

The girl got on solid ground and they looked at her. She had long black hair with orange tips and aquamarine eyes. She wore a white no sleeve collared shirt, blue jean shorts, and yellow and white shoes. She also wore a necklace that looked like the creatures blue sphere attack around her neck.

The girl walked over to them as they put away their weapons, "What are you doing out here? Don't you know it's dangerous?"

"We kind of figured when that thing attacked us. What was that thing anyways?" Sora asked.

The girl looked confused, "That was a Steelix. You're not from around here are you?"

Riku shook his head, "No we're not. We just got here a few minutes ago."

"Really? Then you were lucky that I was training all the way out here. By the way I'm Julia Ketchum and this is my partner Cosmo."

"I'm Sora. And these are my friends Riku, Kairi, and Yakumo."

Kairi asked, "Hey Julia do you know what these creature are?"

Julia and Cosmo looked at each other and Julia answered, "They're called Pokémon. What you don't know what Pokémon are either?"

They shook their heads and Julia whispered, "Weird."

"Hey are there other people around here?" Sora asked.

Julia nodded and said, "My current master and my friends are also here but they're on the safer part of the island."

Cosmo made some noises and Julia seemed to understand, "You're right Cosmo they will be safer with us. Come on I'll lead you to where they are."

Julia and Cosmo started walking and Sora and his friends started to follow.

"Hey Julia where are we?" Yakumo asked.

"You're on Iron Island. This is the place where most Steel type Pokémon live in Sinnoh." Julia explained.

"You mean like that Steelix?" Sora asked looking around.

Julia smiled and said, "Yes but don't worry. Most of the Pokémon here usually don't attack people unless they fell threatened. "

They relaxed a little when one of the creatures passed them without doing anything. Julia and Cosmo continued to lead them helping them through the harder parts of the island. They finally got to the other side and saw they were near the ocean.

"Now where are they?" Julia asked herself looking around.

Cosmo looked around also and then pointed down the stairs to a cabin. Julia looked and saw someone standing in front of the cabin.

Julia smiled and said, "Come on this way."

Julia went down the stairs followed by everyone else. Cosmo was the last one to go down making sure no Pokémon were going to attack them. Sora and the others noticed an older man standing in front of the cabin wearing weird looking clothes.

He looked up the stairs and said, "There you are Julia."

"Hey Riley I'm back." Julia said.

"Yes I see that." Riley said before noticing Sora and his friends, "And who are you guys?"

"Riley this is Sora, Riku, Kairi, and Yakumo. Guys this is my master Riley."

Riley bowed and said, "It's nice to meet you."

"Ummm same here." Sora said unsure.

Julia looked around and asked, "Hey Riley where your Lucario?"

"He's inside the cabin with your friends. I got a little worried about you Julia. You were supposed to be back 30 minutes ago." Riley said crossing his arms.

"I know but I had to save these guys from a Steelix. Riley can I talk to you for a minute alone?" Julia said.

"Sure. The rest of you can go inside the cabin." Riley said.

Sora and the others agreed and went inside the cabin. When they enter they saw two more boys and two other creatures. One creature looked like Cosmo but was colored differently, and the other one was a small silver fox. One boy wore a white and orange striped shirt, blue jean pants, orange and black shoes, and orange gloves. He had green eyes and short black hair. The other boy wore a long sleeve semi- dark green shirt that had a white hood, black pants, and green and black shoes. He had light brown eyes and short brown hair.

"Who are you?" The first boy asked.

"I'm Sora. This is Riku, Kairi, and Yakumo. We were brought here by a girl named Julia."

"Well I'm Adam Fujima and this is Leo Rose. That's Lucario and Yuki." Adam said pointing everyone out.

"Why did Julia bring you here?" Leo asked.

As they started to explain what had happened to them, Julia was talking to Riley.

"They don't know what a Pokémon is and they barely know where they are. Not to mention they had really weird looking weapons that seemed to disappear when I got closer. I don't think there from here Riley." Julia explained.

"I think you're right Julia. I can sense a power in them but it's not like any power I've ever felt before. We need to find out where they come from and why they're here." Riley explained.

Julia agreed and went into the cabin followed by Cosmo just as Sora had finished explaining the Steelix story.

"So you saved these four from a Steelix huh Julia?" Adam said.

"Yes Adam I did. Was that a bad thing?" Julia said with a sigh.

"No I just remember that you always had a knack for helping totally strangers." Adam said.

Julia shook her head and said, "I hope you introduced yourself."

"Yes Julia we have."

"Good. So if you don't mind me asking what you were doing out there?" Julia asked crossing her arms.

"Not too sure are selves." Sora said rubbing the back of his head.

"Will you must have some reason—" Julia started but was cut off.

They heard a shout from outside and Julia rushed outside with Cosmo. Julia looked to see weird looking black creatures attacking Riley and he being unable to fight them off.

"Cosmo use Aura Sphere." Julia said.

The attack hit creatures but only scared them off. Julia rushed over to Riley as the creatures started to come back.

"You ok?" Julia asked.

Riley nodded and asked, "What are those things?"

"I don't know. They don't look like Pokémon." Julia answered.

The creature leapt but was destroyed. Sora stood in front of them and turned to face the rest. Riku, Kairi, and Yakumo joined him and fought off the creatures. Soon all of them were gone Sora looked at them.

"You two ok?" Sora asked.

"Yes we're fine. But I think that you need to explain some things." Riley said standing up.

Sora agreed and they went back into the cabin. Sora and his friends started to explain everything they needed to know.

"A person from another world fighting off these things called Heartless." Julia said.

"Don't believe us." Riku asked.

"I do trust me." Julia said and everyone agreed.

"How come?" Sora asked.

"We've seen some pretty weird things on our travels." Leo said.

Julia sighed and muttered, "Yeah like being a mother to a legendary Pokémon."

"What?" Yakumo asked.

"Nothing….Well since you explained to us, I guess we should explain some things to you." Julia said.

They nodded as Julia just sighed and started to explain everything about the world to them.

"A world full of creatures with special powers that can evolve into other creatures. Sounds too good to be true." Riku said.

"So does people from another world." Leo stated.

"True." Riku said nodding.

"So do you know why the Heartless are here?" Riley asked.

"Well most likely they're here to find hearts so they could take them into the darkness. And before you ask, we're the ones who have to destroy the Heartless so they can't steal the hearts." Yakumo explained.

"What happens when they take your heart?" Julia asked worried.

Sora sighed and said, "You become one of them."

"Oh." was all that Julia said.

"Something wrong Julia?" Riley asked.

Julia shook her head, "No nothing Riley."

Riley looked at her but Julia said, "I'm going out for some air. Come on Yuki."

Yuki got up and followed her. Leo shook his head as if he knew what was bugging her. Sora and the others watched her leave a little confused.

"Is she ok?" Sora asked.

"Not sure. She's never acted this way before but I can tell that something is wrong with her." Riley said.

Leo sighed and stood up. Then he left the cabin and looked for Julia. He saw her sitting on one of the steps with Yuki next to her. Leo sighed again and went over to her.

Julia looked up and Leo asked, "You ok Julia?"

Julia nodded and Leo sat down next to her.

"Can I guess what you're thinking about? You're thinking about that time you turned evil aren't you?" Leo asked smiling slightly.

Julia jumped slightly and asked, "How did—"

But Leo cut her off, "Julia I was there and I saw how you were acting after it happened. Now what's wrong?"

"It's about what Sora and the others said about the Heartless. After that happened, Do you think that maybe I'm……" Julia didn't finish her sentence.

But she didn't have to, Leo got what she was trying to say and placed an arm around her, "Julia don't think that way. Look you're not a Heartless. Sora said Heartless have no feelings but you still have all of yours Julia."

Julia just shook her head and sighed. After that event, Julia had trouble with her Aura for a little bit and still thought about what happened that day. It always upset Julia how she couldn't stop them from taking her over and hurting her loved ones. But Leo didn't know that because Julia never told him and she probably never would. That night, when they figured out where Sora and the others could stay, Julia was tossing and turning.

She was having a nightmare about the Heartless where she was trying to get away from them. Then Julia's chest started to glow lightly and the dream disappeared. She woke up and quickly sat up. Julia pulled up on the string around her neck to reveal a perfect silver feather and a gold key charm.

"Lugia……" Julia said quietly before letting the feather fall onto her chest.

She looked around her tent and saw Yuki was still asleep using her half vest as a blanket. She looked to the right of her and saw that Yakumo was still asleep as well. Julia sighed quietly, got out of her sleeping bag, and left the tent. Julia looked up to the sky and saw a half moon and the stars. Julia sighed again and placed a hand over her chest where her Lugia's feather was.

Looking around she saw three more tents that were near the cabin, and she remembered that Kairi had put up a spell to keep the Heartless away. Julia quietly walked over to the stairs and went up them. Julia looked around, didn't see any Pokémon or Heartless, and thought that most of the Pokémon would be asleep. Julia found a rock and sat down. Then she laid back on the rock looking at the stars.

"You're up late." Said a voice.

Julia jumped slightly and took a look. Yakumo was standing behind her smiling slightly.

"Yakumo I didn't wake you up did I?" Julia asked sitting up and turning towards her.

"No woke up myself but I heard you leave the tent. You shouldn't be out here by yourself. The Heartless are the strongest at night." Yakumo explained.

Julia sighed and said, "About the Heartless…..uummm…..you would be able to tell when someone was one wouldn't you?"

Yakumo nodded and asked, "Why do you ask?"

"I just wanted to know…….if you feel one in me." Julia said carefully.

Yakumo looked confused and said, "No I don't feel one in you. True I do feel a little bit of darkness but it's actually very small. Also everyone has darkness in their hearts."

"Oh I see." Julia said turning away.

"Julia is there something wrong? Why were you asking if one was in you?" Yakumo asked.               

Julia sighed and said, "Something happened a while back and it got me worried if I was a Heartless."

Yakumo smiled slightly and found a rock to sit on near Julia, "Want to tell me about it?"

Julia took a deep breath and slowly started to retell her story. Yakumo listened carefully making sure she didn't miss anything.

When Julia was done Yakumo said, "I can see why that would make you wonder….but don't worry about it. Just because that happened doesn't mean that you're going to become a Heartless."

"But you said you felt darkness inside me." Julia restated.

"Yes and I also said that everyone has a little darkness in them. Even your friends do even if they don't know it."

"So what now?" Julia asked.

"Don't give up. No matter what happens keep the light in your heart. It's the only way for you not to become a Heartless." Yakumo explained.

Julia nodded and Yakumo said, "But I don't think you're going to have a problem with your darkness. As long as your friends stay by you then they can help you through it."

Julia laughed a little and Yakumo was confused, "What? What did I say?"

"Nothing. It's just I've heard that I need friends to help me out from two other people. I didn't think I would be hearing it again." Julia said smiling.

Yakumo smiled and said, "Those people are right. Everyone needs friends at some point in their lives. Now come on before Heartless appear."

Yakumo stood up as did Julia and they went back to the tents. Yakumo went back to sleep but Julia find that she couldn't sleep again.
